This Privacy Policy describes how Retention ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information.

Data Collection

We don't collect your data. Period.

Retention does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. All data created within the app remains on your device.

Data Storage

Your flashcards, study progress, and app settings are stored:

• Locally on your device using standard iOS/macOS storage
• In your personal iCloud account (if you enable iCloud sync)
• In your Obsidian vaults (if you use vault integration)

What We Don't Do

• No analytics or tracking
• No third-party services
• No data sharing or selling
• No access to your information
• No servers collecting your data

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your data is transmitted through Apple's iCloud service. This data is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Obsidian Integration

If you connect Obsidian vaults, the app accesses only the vaults you explicitly grant permission to. All data remains in your local vault files.

Your Control

You have complete control over your data. You can delete all data by removing the app from your device. Your flashcards are yours—we don't want them.

Children's Privacy

Since we do not collect any data, we have no access to information from users of any age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
